You don’t have to look far to see more schools suffering from the costly inconvenience of a cyber-attack. In fact, the DfE’s 2023 cyber security breaches survey found that not only were 1 in 3 secondary schools the victims of cybercrime but more worryingly that all educational establishments in general are becoming more likely to suffer a cyber-attack than the average UK business!

Schools are taking advantage of cloud and digital technologies and the various advantages they bring to teaching and learning as well as significant cost savings. This means that staff and students will be spending more time online and more data will be stored in the cloud. Therefore, cyber security will continue to become an increasing concern as highlighted by the DfE’s survey and their Technology and Digital Standards for Schools and Colleges.

To ensure you are best prepared to combat the threat of costly and disruptive cyber-attacks Wavenet Education offers a range of cyber security services including independent security consultations against DfE Cyber Security Standards or access to our security operations centre 24/7.
