ISBL has developed a suggested response to support school business professionals in submitting their own response to the Department for Education’s Putting Children and Young People First: SEND Reform Consultation 2026.
Developed following a specialist session with Stone King and shaped by feedback from ISBL members, the document summarises key themes, risks, and practical considerations relating to the proposed SEND reforms. It includes member‑informed viewpoints on funding, workforce capacity, estate implications, Individual Support Plans (ISPs), and the overall feasibility of implementation.
The resource is designed to help SBPs reflect on the proposals and prepare their own consultation responses. ISBL strongly encourages all SBPs to contribute, ensuring that operational realities, funding pressures, and workforce challenges are fully represented within the national discussion.
The consultation closes on 18 May 2026, and you can access ISBL’s guidance here.
