Education Mutual is pleased to announce that the first-ever Multi Academy Trust edition of the School Business Leader Wellbeing Index is now live. This dedicated report marks a significant moment for the sector, offering the first MAT-specific insight into the mental health and wellbeing of School Business Leaders.
Key findings highlight that 62% of SBLs within trusts report feeling overwhelmed by workload, with over 30% stating that their mental health and wellbeing had been impacted by a lack of work-life. Despite this, many respondents say their wellbeing is not being prioritised—raising concerns about sustainability and retention in these vital roles.
This newly adapted version of the Index was developed in direct response to growing responses from SBLs, Trust leaders, and CFOs/COOs who recognised the need for research that reflects the unique pressures and experiences within the Multi Academy Trust setting.
Education Mutual, the UK’s largest member-owned provider of staff absence protection, is committed to championing wellbeing across education. This report aims to spark meaningful conversations and drive actionable change to better support the SBLs community.
