RAAC

ISBL Team
September 1, 2023

For some time now DfE have been drawing attention to Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in educational buildings. A guide was issued to provide advice on how to identify RAAC and what steps to take if it is present. It now transpires that some schools may need to close to rectify the problem and this may take some time. Therefore some schools may also need to identify alternative accommodation for their pupils.

ISBL would like to offer assistance and support to school business professionals ( members and non-members) who face planning or logistical challenges associated with RAAC.

We will be working with our approved partners Barkers who have a team of Chartered Surveyors, Architects and Structural Engineers.

In addition we will keep you informed on DfE guidance and any forthcoming support. In the meantime, please see below current guidance.
