The Mental Health and Wellbeing of School Business Leaders
School Business Leaders play an essential – but often unnoticed – role in the smooth running of schools. It benefits everyone to ensure they are mentally and emotionally healthy enough to take on this demanding, but important, role. With the varied demands placed on an role SBL, like many other professions, the demands take a toll on their mental health.
Education Mutual and Education Support have worked in partnership on this ground breaking research to collectively understand the wellbeing of SBLs in state-funded primary, secondary and special schools across England and Wales. They explore the importance of your mental health and wellbeing and offer some strategies to support. The roles of a School Business Leaders, School Business Managers, HR and admin staff are critical for the effective running of educational institutions. The increased interest in staff wellbeing following the Covid-19 pandemic, highlighted the lack of research relating to this group of staff. The aim of the research is to support the overlooked wellbeing of School Business Leaders to accelerate more fulfilling, successful, and effective educational institutions.
