Invitation to join the ASBO International community

ASBO International
June 27, 2024

When one person steps forward, they can make a difference. When groups of people step forward together, they can change the world. School business professionals are stronger as a group than as individuals, and stronger still when connected through the multiple channels, initiatives, and opportunities provided by access to the ASBO International community.

Districts around the world come in all shapes and sizes—and yet we have so much in common regardless of these differences. Make use of the information, resources, and opportunities available through ASBO International.

The Global School Business Network’s All Member Community connects you with your peers to ask questions, share insights, and access resources in real time! As members of ISBL, you can opt in to be a part of this group.

To access the Global Business Network, you simply need to register to access this additional benefit by signing up to ASBO International by clicking here, and completing the registration.

Beyond the Network, ASBO International has a lot to offer:

  • School Business Insider, hosted by John Brucato, a school business official from New York, is a weekly live conversation highlighting current events, challenges, and opportunities surrounding the school business professional with guests from around the world.
  • ASBO International’s year-round education resource, ASBO Learn, offers overviews and deeper looks at the topics most pertinent to school business professionals. In addition to live interactive events, there is an extensive library of recorded sessions and workshops for busy professionals to use on their own time.

From boosting the careers of new leaders to recognizing the lasting impact of seasoned school business leaders, celebrating creative problem-solving and rewarding exceptional financial communications, ASBO International acknowledges members for excellence in the many facets of work we do as school business professionals.

Emerging Leaders Scholarships are awarded to 20 newer professionals with fewer than five years of experience in the field of school business. Each recipient gets $2,000 toward attending AC&E as well as specialized training and networking opportunities and the support of mentors and peers during and after the event.

Eagle Award honours go to school business professionals who have served the profession with distinctive dedication. Three ASBO International members receive the Distinguished Eagle Award, which includes a $2,500 scholarship to present to a high school senior from their district, registration for AC&E, and registration and travel to Eagle Institute. One International Eagle Award recipient is presented with a $5,000 scholarship for a student in their district, registration for AC&E, and registration and travel to Eagle Institute.

Pinnacle Awards recognize individuals or district teams for creative problem-solving in the realm of school business using ingenuity and expertise to maximize resources and support student achievement. Three Pinnacle of Achievement individuals or districts are presented with $1,000 for the recipient’s district and AC&E registration for one individual or two team members. One awardee or district team receives the Pinnacle of Excellence Award, including $5,000 for the district, registration and travel to AC&E, and $5,000 in school furniture from Virco, Inc.

District Membership allows districts to give an unlimited number of employees who perform business functions access to a global network of peers, resources, publications, and member discounts for only $499/year, less than the price of two individual memberships. Individual memberships are also available.
