Stone King is delighted to be supporting and sponsoring ISBL’s research into operational excellence. To underpin this research, Stone King has produced a paper on HR excellence, which deals with how an effective HR function can add value to a school or MAT.

In the video below, Stone King Partners Jean Boyle (Joint Head of Education Sector) and Craig Vincent (Head of Employment and HR Consultancy Services) discuss the paper’s key aspects.

In their conversation, Craig draws on his past experience of working within HR at schools and trusts, noting the ways in which the profession has changed within the sector over the last ten years. For example, HR was often attached to another role, but it is now recognised as a function within its own right and one that can be extremely valuable to schools and trusts.

They also discuss the HR approaches that schools and trusts should be adopting now, such as focusing on retention of talent rather than recruitment, and touch upon the commercial approach to HR and how this could have a positive impact.
