Zenergi, in collaboration with Paul Edmond and Helen Burge from the UK Schools Sustainability Network (UKSSN), has launched the Greener Schools Index, a free online tool designed to help schools measure, track and benchmark progress on sustainability objectives.
This innovative resource supports schools in understanding their environmental impact in key areas like energy, water, waste, biodiversity, air quality and procurement.
How well is your school or Trust meeting its sustainability targets? By completing this comprehensive survey, you’ll receive a personalised report summarising achievements and identifying areas for improvement. This report can be shared with governors and trustees, or integrated into a Climate Action Plan.
The tool responds to growing demands for climate action within education, offering a practical, structured approach for school leaders and Sustainability Leads. A resources section supports survey completion, while results populate an index, enabling benchmarking and collaboration among schools.
The survey is open until 28 February 2025 at greenerschoolsindex.co.uk. A report will then be published summarising national findings, which can serve as a lobbying tool to unlock resources and support.
Don’t miss out! Start your school’s journey to a sustainable future today and be part of a collaborative effort to drive meaningful climate action in education.
