Demystifying the DfE Energy Efficiency Grant
The capital funding from the DfE for investment into energy efficiency measures is designed to shield schools from the impacts of a turbulent energy market and protect budgets by reducing energy consumption and costs.
But many schools have expressed a lack of understanding about how the grant can be used. ISBL issued a survey to its members to gauge how schools planned to spend the funding, the results of which revealed that 70% of respondents did not know how best to focus their spend to maximise the value of their investment and generate the best energy savings.
Together, ISBL and Zenergi delivered a webinar to demystify the topic and provide an understanding of the practical opportunities available to schools, reviewing energy-efficient and renewable technologies that can provide a fast return on investment and accelerate net zero targets. At the end of the webinar, the audience revealed a better understanding, with 72% ready to start, or already working on it.
