The UK government’s goal of reaching net zero by 2050 is driving changes in energy measurement. New regulation is coming that will require all organisations to have their electricity settled on a half-hourly basis.

If your meter is a traditional non-half-hourly meter, it will need to be upgraded to a half-hourly meter by October 2026. This significant change in the electricity market will help National Grid balance supply and demand more efficiently.
